This connection lets Gofylo add each article to a CMS collection on your Webflow site and publish it.
What you need
- A Site API token for your Webflow site.
- Your Site ID, and the Collection ID of the CMS collection your articles go into.
- Fields in that collection with these names:
| Field | What Gofylo puts in it |
|---|---|
| name | The title |
| slug | The URL slug |
| post-body | The article body |
| post-summary | The meta description |
| meta-description | The meta description |
| main-image | The cover image |
In Webflow
- Go to Site Settings > Apps & integrations > API access.
- Generate a Site API token with CMS access set to Read and write, and copy it. Webflow shows the token only once.
- Copy your Site ID and the Collection ID of your articles collection.
Webflow explains tokens in its guide to API tokens.
In Gofylo
- Open Integrations and click Connect on the Webflow card.
- Fill in API token, Site ID and Collection ID.
- Click Connect.
Gofylo saves these details without testing them, so your first publish shows whether they work. To change them later, click Configure on the card, change what you need and click Update credentials. Leave the API token empty to keep the one already saved.
What gets published
An article goes out when you click Approve & Publish on it, or on its scheduled day when Auto-publish articles is on in Content Settings. Gofylo creates a new item in your collection, filled in as the table shows, then publishes the item to your live site. If Webflow does not publish the item, the publish shows as failed, and publishing the article again publishes that same item instead of adding a second one.
Republish updates the same item and publishes it again. Deleting the article in Gofylo takes the item off your live site and deletes it from the collection.
If it doesn't work
Open the article and expand Advanced > Publish history to see the error.
- "Webflow auth failed": the API token was refused. Generate a new token, paste it into API token and click Update credentials.
- "Webflow resource not found": check the Collection ID.
- "Webflow rejected request": Webflow refused the item, and the rest of the message says why. Check that your collection has the fields in the table above.
- "Webflow did not publish item": Webflow created the item but would not publish it, and the rest of the message says why. Fix that in Webflow; publishing the article again publishes the same item.
After fixing an error, click Approve & Publish on the article again.
