Connecting Google Search Console lets Gofylo read your site's Google search data: the searches your pages appear for, with their clicks, impressions and average position.
If the Google Search Console card says Coming Soon, Search Console is not available on your account yet.
What you need
A Google account with access to your site's property in Search Console. The property must be verified.
Connect
- Open Integrations and click Connect on the Google Search Console card. You can also use the Google Search Console tab in Settings.
- Sign in to Google and allow access. Gofylo asks to read your Search Console data and see your email address. It can't change anything in Search Console.
- Back in Gofylo, choose your site under Property to track and click Save & Sync.
You then see the connected Google account next to Account and your site next to Property. During setup, the Connect GSC button on the Blog step does the same.
How Gofylo uses it
- Your data refreshes once a day, or when you click Sync Now. Google reports two to three days late, and your history in Gofylo builds up from the day you connect.
- The Overview shows your Organic Traffic Trend. In striking distance lists pages in positions 5 to 20 that already get impressions. For an article Gofylo wrote, Push it up rewrites it to help it climb.
- When choosing keywords, Gofylo skips searches a page of yours already ranks for, so it doesn't write an article that competes with that page.
- With Auto-improve articles on, Gofylo refreshes published articles that are slipping in rankings. The Improvements tab in Content Settings sets the days and whether the new version goes straight to your blog.
If it doesn't work
- "Google sign-in didn't finish, so Search Console isn't connected": click Connect again and allow access when Google asks.
- "No verified properties found in your GSC account.": the Google account you connected has none. Check the email next to Account, click Disconnect Google Search Console and connect with the account that owns your property.
- "That property isn't among your Google-verified Search Console sites.": your access to that property isn't verified. Verify it in Search Console, then choose it again and click Save & Sync.
- "Synced 0 keyword records": Search Console has no recent data for your site yet. A newly verified property shows 0 at first. Click Sync Now again in a few days.
